NGS Headline Shares Final Details About Creative Space, Chapter 6, Cel Shading, and More Ahead of Launch

SEGA today shared a new NGS Headline, a program to inform players about the present and future of Sega’s free-to-play online action RPG, PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS, with info on current operations, future updates, and campaigns. Today’s NGS Headline revealed the final details about PSO2 NEW GENESIS ver. 2 as well as collaborations coming next month.

Creative Space

The Creative Space is a significant evolution from the Personal Quarters of PSO2. In the Creative Space, players can edit an entire island that belongs solely to them. Using building materials called Build Parts, which can be modified in scale and color, players can freely create building interiors and exteriors. The terrain of the island itself can be changed to produce mountains and valleys as well, and players can work together to make huge buildings. The Connect System, which links parts together, can be used to open and close doors, turn on lights, and create a wide variety of activities like mazes and quiz games.

Creations can be saved as Designs, which will allow players to duplicate, reposition, and share them with other players. Players can download and use shared Designs to place them in their own space. However, to reproduce the contents of a Design, players must have the Build Parts utilized in that Design. There is no cost for downloading Designs, and the owners of downloaded Designs will not receive any type of reward.

Genesis Points

Build parts can be purchased using Genesis Points (GP), which is a new type of point system being introduced in NGS ver. 2. GP can be obtained from the GP Tree located in the Creative Space and acquired from Weekly Tasks and Limited-time Tasks provided by Arche, the ARKS Architectural Researcher. Arche will also teach the basic controls for the Creative Space so players can earn GP while completing tasks.

Among the Build Parts that players can get with GP are several objects with interesting functions, such as the ARKS Decoy, which allows you to place a clone of your character, and the IntraSpace Teleporter, which allows you to jump between two locations. Some of the furnishings from PSO2 will be made into Build Parts and added as new items! In addition to Build Parts, GP can be exchanged for Augment Capsules, Aegis Integra, Ajax Armor, and other items that are useful in battle. Be sure to check it out when ver. 2 arrives!

AC Shop

The Resort Build Parts Pack will also be available at the in-game AC Shop. This pack comes with five different types of Build Parts that can be used in the Creative Space, including a pool and hanging chairs that can be used to create a luxurious resort-like atmosphere.

In addition, a collaboration pack with costumes of Sega’s popular Sonic characters and themed Build Parts for the Creative Space will be available at various stores and at the in-game AC Shop. This pack includes a 15-day Premium Set ticket and other consumable items!

Chapter 6

Also announced today, is an upcoming look at Chapter 6, Part 1 of the Main Story. Zephetto has revealed a number of truths to us on Leciel, which up until now had been referred to as the “floating island.” A new threat has emerged as well. In response, Crawford begins discussing countermeasures with leaders from each region. The protagonist and Aina will be given new missions to prepare for the next battle. Along with the release of Chapter 6, adjustments have been made that make it easier for players to progress through the Main Story by eliminating damage attenuation and Battle Power requirements for Story Quests as well as lowering the level of enemies. Portable Holograms

Portable Holograms are making their debut as a new feature for communication. Players can put Holograms throughout each ARKS base and in the open field. Multiple Holograms can be placed simultaneously, but please be aware that this is limited by cost restrictions. Holograms disappear automatically when the character moves a set distance from where the Hologram was placed, and they are reset when logging out or transferring to another Block.

Three types of Holograms can be placed: Objects, Effects, and Paint. Among these, Paint can be applied to floors and walls. In addition to the basic Holograms that are in place at the start, as with Emotes, there will also be new variations included in AC Scratch Ticket prizes, for example. Let’s spruce up Planet Halpha with some Portable Holograms!

Cel Shading

Cel Shading for characters is now available in Options and at the Salon. This also applies to characters who appear in the story. Detailed adjustments like Outline Emphasis, Shadow Density, and more enable players to personalize the setting. This setting is only available in NGS and does not apply to PSO2 Blocks.

SEGA today announced their popular free-to-play online action RPG, Phantasy Star Online 2 (Global), has launched on the Epic Games Store.

With a careful eye and a photographer’s keen sense of adventure, you’ll be able to spot Pokémon lurking in all sorts of places, including secluded hideaways … and sometimes swooping down suddenly from the sky! Players will be able to interact with Pokémon by throwing a Fluffruit, a tasty fruit found across the region, to catch their attention or watch them eat. You can even use this fruit to help draw out Pokémon into a variety of situations to see how they react. These serendipitous opportunities present a special challenge, and catching them with your camera at the perfect moment may gain you higher scores.

Professor Mirror will evaluate and score players’ photos taken on their adventures. Pokémon photography is evaluated based on the subjects’ poses, how large they appear, how directly they’re facing the camera and where they fall in frame. As players take more photos and fulfill research on their journey, they may see Pokémon look and behave in entirely new ways. Players will have to take many photos and use their highest-scoring shots to fill out their Photodex, a collection of Pokémon photographs.

The untouched depths of the Lental region may sound daunting at first, but don’t worry. FOOTBALL MANAGER 2021 – BETA AVAILABLE NOW The wait is finally over – the Football Manager 2021 Beta is now live on the Epic Games Store and Steam, giving managers the chance to kick their career off early. Anyone who has pre-purchased FM21 from a SEGA-approved digital retailer* can log-in to Epic Games or Steam and launch the game directly from their library, right now. Fans who haven’t pre-purchased can rest assured that it’s not too late to get involved as anyone who pre-purchases FM21 on PC and Mac from a participating digital retailer between now and the game’s full release on November 24th will get access to the Beta and 10% off.

The pre-release Beta is a near complete (but not quite final) version of the game, so players may encounter some bugs and issues during play. RTX Comes to Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Pop culture phenomenon Fortnite is the latest blockbuster game to turn RTX On, joining Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and a large group of AAA titles, such as Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion.

Among other titles already shipping with ray-tracing support are Control, Minecraft with RTX Beta for Windows 10 and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. NVIDIA Broadcast: Stream Like a Pro. 32 of Brazil Games’ Best Indie Studios are Bringing the Heat to Devcom Digital 2020

Today, Brazil Games is thrilled to announce that 32 Brazilian game studios, including Hermit Crab Game Studio and Rockgames, will be part of a delegation attending Devcom Digital 2020. Taking place from August 17 to 30, 2020, these incredibly talented Brazilian studios will present their latest creations, innovations, and upcoming games, as well as engage in business development, form partnerships, and come together to do what they do best — bring quality video games to the market.

In partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), the group is led by Brazil Games (the Brazilian Games Export Program) — carried out by the Brazilian Games Companies Association and Abragames.

“As one of the fastest-growing game development scenes on the planet, we’re excited to show some of the amazing work from our growing stable of Indie Developers,” said Eliana Russi, Manager of Brazil Games. “Whether it’s simply getting the games into the hands of players or creating future partnerships, our studios can’t wait to hit the digital-floor at Devcom 2020.”

“Brazil has a substantial amount of incredibly talented Indie studios, and Devcom Digital is the perfect environment to get their names and faces out there in the industry,” continued Russi. “We truly believe in homegrown talent and want to show the world what we’ve all known for years — Brazil is a hotbed of extremely accomplished and gifted game creators.”

In addition, this year three Brazilian studios —out of 60 total — were selected to participate in the prestigious DevCom NRW GREEN Virtual Indie Expo 2020: Duaik, Fira Soft, and INSANE.

Duaik is an independent game developer located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, founded in 2014 after joining Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program and receiving the title of “Inaugural Brazilian Developer” on Xbox One in 2015 from Xbox’s Phil Spencer himself. Duaik’s first title, Aritana and the Harpy’s Feather, won multiple awards including Best Game at SBGames 2014, People’s Choice at BIG 2014, Brazilian Game of the Year at TGA 2014, and many more. During Decom Digital 2020, the team will exhibit its sequel, Aritana and the Twin Mask.

Fira Soft is a studio that focuses on working with brands to create “advergames” and educational titles that connect clients and brands with a whole new demographic and player base. Founded in 2011, Fira Soft’s upcoming title Kriophobia promises a return to survival horror and follows a geologist named Anna who finds herself trapped on the sinister Zhokhov Island.

INSANE was a studio founded with one goal in mind: to bring the visually distinct, truly open-world sandbox MMORPG Profane to players everywhere. With a team of 25 industry professionals, INSANE is always looking for consultants, collaborators, and new tips and technologies.

Several studios will have featured booths this year, with Duaik, INSANE, and Fira Soft exhibiting their work in the DevCom NRW GREEN Virtual Indie Expo 2020 booth, with Rockgames, Ludact, and Kokku hosting booths of their own. Brazil Games will also have a digital booth in the Country Pavillion, and registered attendees can book meetings with the Executive Team through the Devcom Meet-to-Match tool.

In addition, several studios involved in external development, who bring their skills and expertise to outside clients in order to help them reach their goals and launch their games in a polished and complete package, will join the Devcom 2020 delegation. These studios can handle just about any aspect of game development, from creating 2D and 3D art and animation to engineering, porting and everything in between:

Founded in 2014, Garage 227 Studios is an innovative Brazilian studio that now boasts a host of talented artists, programmers, and developers and has also recently expanded into the United States.

Kokku is nearing a full decade in the games industry as the studio for external development, with a hefty resume that includes work on lauded AAA titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Sniper Ghost Warrior among other VR and mobile games and is staffed by industry veterans with pedigrees from major studios such as Microsoft, CAPCOM, Tencent, SEGA and THQ.

Diorama Digital is the go-to studio for external development of 2D and 3D concept art, and since 2014 has worked on numerous large-scale titles like Just Cause 4, Overwatch, and Borderlands 3.

PUGA Studios is a top outsourcing company for 2D and stylized 3D art, with clients in 13 countries and a resume that includes work with game studios like Gearbox, Jam City, and Kwalee.

Manifesto Games, with almost 15 years in the industry, handles both development and operations for web and mobile titles, co-producing and developing games for Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Disney, Sea World, and Zynga.
